It took Corgi a long time to produce a modern Rolls Royce. The first appeared very briefly in 1970 with Golden Jacks but after less than a year it got the first, rather ugly and totally unsuitable Whizzwheels. Later in production - around 1972 - it gets the much more attractive chromed plastic wheels and a coat of silver paint.
These silver models sometimes also have nice gold grille and bumpers like this one.
Unlike many switches to Whizzwheels in this era, the Rolls Royce Silver Shadow kept all its opening bits, It lost only the Golden Jacks and a spare in the boot.
This example is superb, all totally original with faultless paintwork and a nice new shine to the gold chromework. A beautiful example and impressive model. The box is complete but shows some wear. The cellophane is complete but the box has lost a little shape and one end has a slight tear.
