Another model that I could not let be discarded. The cerise paintwork on these is easily damaged and very flaky and the chrome can often become totally yellow after just a few modest crashes into the skirting board or kitchen table. I decided, therefore, to spend some money and make this one look good again, with a fresh coat of black that was not used for the originals.

It has had a new chrome element that runs the length of the motor, providing front and rear bumpers as well as suspension. It has also had a new screen. The rest is original and the whole effect is quite pleasing.

The lights do pop up but it is a bit of a struggle to get them to face fully forward and I don't want to push them too hard. It may be that the new chrome element is slightly blocking their path. This is a minor point, though as the car never looked attractive with the lights raised anyway. It was a nice idea of Corgi's but for some reason they've never been photogenic whereas with them down the car is fabulous.
